I used to do this a lot more but it worried my mom so much she seriously asked if I needed a psychiatrist. I love a little playful joke to myself or reliving an old argument out loud like the person is right in front of me. Sometimes, my mind is too cluttered with ideas, and the only solution is out.

I feel very the same. My mind is a continuous storm of joke, ideas and reflection and sometimes I feel the need to give concrete word to what I'm thinking even in public spaces like at the groceries store even though seems quite strange indeed lol

with others, to pets, and you know what! even talking to yourself from time to time... sometimes you just need to verbalize the thoughts that have overstayed their welcome in your brain to actually be able to process them better. make them a tangible thing instead of this ephemeral wisp that keeps bouncing around restlessly inside your cranium.

We all have deep inner wisdom and knowledge that ego can at times obstruct. I’ve found that talking to myself really helps circumvent any blockages and allows me to access my intuition more directly. All you have to do is ask yourself out loud what’s on your mind and answer honestly like you’re talking to a trusted friend. I talk to myself frequently and it’s one of the most healing and forward-propelling actions I partake in.

If the voice in your head is being too mean ask it if it would talk to someone you love this way. My internal monologue can be a 💩 and this sometimes can help it be more constructive

Why is this such a lost art? Bring together those friends that would never have met other wise. Make the people you love, love each other. I recently had a small birthday wine n dine with my friends and anticipated awkwardness between my different groups of friends, but it was the complete opposite. God I love my friends and love making a space for them to mingle and laugh in eeeee. I think in a time where my friends and I are transitioning to adulthood and focusing on careers, this brings something to look forward to and a way to create a world outside of work and study.
