"Get Up" puts the tape over my knuckles, it pushes me out the sheets, and gets me into my body. The whole album's sentiment is tender and raucous. Here to bump the band. If you're in NYC, I hope you'll try to see them in March.

this track absolutely slaps. I've had it on repeat for 2 weeks. Really hits that sweet spot of 90's nostalgia sound but with a bit of an arena chug to it. like Mazzy Star but more mean and unapologetic (literally). Found the bound through a shazam of a diff track from a sickkkk Inner Totality Libra Mix and then just got swept into a spotify spiral of their music. Interestingly the drummer died by assisted suicide in Switzerland at age 66 after feeling that he had accomplished everything in life he needed to, what conviction!

This is basically a Halloween album - the songs are haunted, aching, messy, and sometimes silly. It features a children’s choir, crooning, and whispers of a dying love, a beating heart, bones beneath your feet. I listen every fall and, beyond that, this album is a piece of my musical identity. I didn’t know you could break glass and stomp and let songs fall apart and have that all work on an album because when I first heard this I had mostly been listening to ska and blink 182. “My Body’s a Zombie For You” is a good one if you just want a taste check it out luv u byeee

Echoing the value of rest💗 consider the 7 types of rest and see what areas might feel nice for you to incorporate into your day/week rn. There are some great tools out there (esp. if therapy or doctors visits are inaccessible or just not the right path for you) to support mental health or creative practices. Some free/web available resources I trust are The Artists Way by Julia Cameron (caveat that this has some chat about spirituality, and for some folks that may not be a great fit, but super useful otherwise), Thinking Traps Tutorial by Dr. Raquel Martin or any of her free resources really, and symptom journaling generally. Would be glad to share both wider or more specific reccs if desired. And just know it takes time but it's not forever that you'll feel dispassionate. Sending lots of gentleness and warmth to you.

Love this app, it's wonderful, thanks for your work! Some color themes make it difficult to see whether you've liked/starred something or not (like the star looks yellow before you've clicked it and when you do, it's tough to know if it's been properly selected). It would be awesome to tweak the color pallette of the pre-like/star state on those themes.
