I've played D&D and other tabletop RPGs on-and-off for the last 10 years of my life. I recently started a one-shot campaign with some friends of various levels of interest (some listen to podcasts but have never played some are just curious) and it's been so exciting and inspiring to see my friends who have never roleplayed before get into their characters and flesh them out. I love watching them learn and fall in love with the game I've known and loved for so long!

*tentatively recommending due to the barrier to entry* If you have a friend nerdy and committed enough to be a Dungeon Masterโ€” start a campaign!!! Iโ€™ve had one going for 2+ years and itโ€™s SO much fun.

Extremely fun with the right group! I'm the game master of our main game so writing all the lore bits are the best part for me, it's one of the best ways I am able to express my creativity.

i try to set aside time at least once a week to browse eventbrite! i'm a big fan of their "show only free events" filter. it takes some patience to dig through, but you can find some real gems. i've been to free theatre shows, boat tours, and cooking workshops. if your area doesn't use eventbrite, try other platforms like peatix, facebook events or local community boards.

coffee: my school has a cafe that sells the best iced spanish latte taking the train: especially when it's empty and the temperature inside the cabin is perfect listening to new music: i've been using apple music's radio function a lot lately and i really enjoy it

i always love doing something different each year with my friends on my birthday. last year, we went swimming at our neighborhood pool and talked until our fingers were pruney. afterwards, we had dinner at a nearby restaurant, talked some more and ended the night with me blowing out the candle on a molten lava cake topped with vanilla ice cream. this year, iโ€™m thinking of going canoeing with them! i'm really looking forward to that.
