I thought about making a Substack but then I thought noā€¦ I need something shittierā€¦ and let me tell you blogspot is especially shitty on mobile. Ideally read on a library desktop computer. Itā€™s nothing too exciting just a recap of what I read/watch/listen to each month which wasnā€™t all that much in January. Also hi guyz itā€™s been a minute :D

Current personal blog is linked. Updated monthly, at minimum, with a media roundup. Occasionally, some flash fiction gets posted or some photography. You can keep up with it the old fashioned way by visiting directly periodically. Or you could get an RSS reader and subscribe to the feed (also works on substack feeds). Or you can get it as a poorly formatted newsletter. But you canā€™t get it on substack!

lyta gold - writes about issues around media literacy, sometimes rapid-fire reviews, and occasional digressions about star trek becca rothfield - reviews books, writes books, and generally has novel perspectives on a lot of issues that are usually only discussed in inane ways on social media alexandra leaving - the most personal blog-ish of the ones so far, but luckily she is a pretty interesting and funny person. i recommend her weezer article in particular. i have more but in the interest of brevity thought i would end with pi.fyi comrade mdoinurmom's blog generally ambitious, which i just started reading fairly recently but have greatly enjoyed what i've seen so far (btw i basically only read substack through my RSS feed and i recommend y'all do the same)

Currently have three full pages in my notebook! I guess some might call this a gratitude journal LOL but itā€™s different when I do it.Ā  My brother was telling me about this phenomenon called ā€œtarget fixationā€. Itā€™s a panic reflex that happens when motorcyclists become fixated on a singular object, obstacle, hazard (e.g. a sharp curve on a winding road) and they will unconsciously steer in the direction of the thing theyā€™re trying to avoid because their hands follow their gaze which leads to accidents.Ā  You will follow your gaze so be aware of where youā€™re looking. Train yourself to seek out pleasure and appreciation! Understanding where + what you derive pleasure from increases your capacity to enjoy things which in turn makes you a more interesting person (imo). I think itā€™s just as important self-knowledge as understanding your triggers/trauma. It is a daily willingness to be transformed by small things. Sorry for lecturing but I want good things for all of you. Xoxo, meg
