Iā€™ve been listening to a mix of different Jungle music tracks like ā€œJust One Second (Apex Remix) by London Elektricityā€. Apple Music has a great Drum & Bass essentials playlist where I found this track on. Reminds me a lot of 2000s era gaming. Really puts me in the zone with my long IT and animation study sessions. Also been having JPEGMAFIAā€™s new album ā€œI LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU (DIRECTORS CUT)ā€. I think he may be my favorite artist. Independent, sonically insane production, great for the gym or just driving around. Heā€™s an inspiring artist to me. Every time I listen to one of his tracks Iā€™m truly baffled as to how someone thought to sample or bring together such a unique mix of sounds on one track. ā€œHazard Duty Payā€ or ā€œBALD!ā€ may be my favorites from him right now (not on the album I mentioned). Another is ā€œFirecracker by Yellow Magic Orchestraā€. I found this via Hideo Kojimaā€™s Instagram post about Space Invaders. It caught my attention because itā€™s the first time I heard the sample for ā€œIā€™m Real by Jennifer Lopezā€. Kind of an obscure reference but I always loved the beat as a kid and I instantly recognized the track on his post so I had to add it to my library. Very fun track to listen toā€¦ good for driving to work to start your day on a good note. Iā€™m going to see Kendrick Lamar perform in June so his latest album ā€œGNXā€ is also in rotation. My favorite track is probably ā€œDodger Blueā€.

most I've amassed from Spotify recommendations and Bandcamp digging + stuff I've enjoyed playing out thanks royallmonarch for paging me - the entire Kindergarten Records catalog - "cosmic club workouts with wigged-out rhythmic structures", hipster bass from Queens NY - Step Ball Chain - Off-kilter Modern Contemporary dance. Assertive anthems femme finesse, choreographed to perfection. great label spanning tech house, progressive/trance, bass, dnb mainly from lgbtq producers. I recommend Pleasure Phonetix by Mabel for the unique drum production and vocal chops from "Lose Control" by Missy Elliot in "Double Take" - Ross Lowder, originally from Texas with some roots in the Nashville electronic scene now based in Seattle WA, great PS1 style jungle/dub on the Comes in Waves EP - Obelisk by Bell Curve - co-founder/promoter of Worst Behavior records, ethereal midtempo bass music on Berlin label SSPB - Cargo.wavs by Point.reyes and mort.domed - the pure high-octane Texan techno you need straight from Austin. "Guitar Paradiso" is an absolutely beautiful track

I think this guy may be my new favorite artist. Talented as hell. I appreciate when an artist is involved with every step of the music-making process, down to the visuals even. Produced, mixed, mastered and performed all by one person. Huge fan of his production and how it blends elements of WWE entrance theme style rock music, 80s hip hop, obscure samples from the internet, grimy ass drums, R&B, etc. The list goes on. Anytime a new song or album drops I can expect nothing but pure ear candy that scratches that hard to reach itch in my brain. The only other artist that really does that for me is Death Grips but they can be a bit overstimulating and hard to listen to at times I wonā€™t lie. His merch goes hard and his website design is cool as hell too. He dropped a ā€œValentineā€™s Day ā€˜25 Freestyleā€ thatā€™s been in constant rotation for me, and I recently treated myself to the Directorā€™s Cut Vinyl of his last release for my birthday. Good shit!

I used to collect these from the laundromat machines as a kid. 25 cents for a random figure with tons of personality. I loved the artwork and the silly characters. My sister and I got so obsessed with them that Iā€™d ask my mom to buy lots worth of these off eBay back in 2005 so I could try and collect all the series. They even had a bobblehead series I thought was groundbreaking at the time haha. Discovered the website as a kid and how theyā€™d have bios for each character and tons of artwork. I think this was a big influence for me to start drawing back then. Currently rediscovering them as I came across the original artistā€™s instagram and heā€™s still making merch/figures! Pretty cool/niche interest Iā€™m tapping back into.

I have an IT background but wanted to try this profession out while Iā€™m still young. A lot of fun, a bit harsh hours but the crew and human interactions make it worth it. The brutal 7 month training was ASS but Iā€™m so glad I did it and graduated.
