Why do you come to a repertory screening at a movie theater to talk through the whole thing… damn you to hell!! Furthermore, people who laugh at anything remotely weird, uncomfortable, or provocative in a film… I’m not sure what you’re trying to prove but part of the human experience is sitting in discomfort. Not to be the laughter police because there is humor in absurdity, but I can’t stand people laughing at everything just because it’s “weird” and they don’t want to seem like they condone the message on screen.

The inappropriate laughing makes me so annoyed, like honestly sad that people can‘t allow themselves to appreciate art with anything other than ironic detachment I went to a Blue Velvet screening with SO MUCH LAUGHING, like what is so funny????

Went to go see Blue Velvet in 35mm about two months back and the whole audience was full of those annoying ass Bushwick-esque hipsters laughing at all the more abstract bits of dialogue like Laura Dern’s speech about the robins. Pissed me off to no end.

Agree and I’d like to add another theater request: can people also be mindful of how high they’re wearing their beanies on their heads in the theater? Or better yet, take the hat off for the sake of those behind you!

Loved going to matinee/discount movie days until A. I moved and got a big girl job and can’t go to movies that much anymore and B. Had to listen to everyone yap and either take pics with the flash or use their phone at full brightness. I’m all for free will but I’m just baffled at spending money to do the same shit you can do at home for free without inconveniencing others????

jxnator the amount of replies here about people taking pictures WITH FLASH is insane. Thankfully I haven’t experienced that … yet. Stay strong warriors of theater etiquette!

I hateeee when I’m on letterboxd and look at reviews and see someone say something like “this is so unrealistic” “this would never happen” “when [insert] happened I immediately was taken out of it”…. It’s a movieeeeee!!!! Sit down to enjoy the media, not to critique every little thing that seems slightly wrong about it… obviously there are exceptions but LOL do u know what I mean

My favorite hobby is watching for planes and checking where they’re coming from and where they’re going on the flight radar app… if you live near a major airport this is the greatest activity in any season and something that gives me a reason to take a walk to the pier. Love to see a plane coming from super far and imagining all the tired people ready to land in the little tube in the sky.
