recently discovered that clairo voiced a tennis ball haunted by the passage of time and finding meaning outside of its identity as a tennis ball in this animated short film. really funny and cute and comforting and i feel like more people should know about it...

it’s a study of childlike wonder, finding place/purpose, the conflict between stagnant society vs preservation, the importance of death and grief, ethics vs inner drives, and the dangers of obsession. and it’s beautiful. and it’s cozy. highly highly recommend. the first time i watched it i was like cool this is fun. and then i just kept thinking about it and it kept popping into my mind. fun and whimsical, but mature and thoughtful.

so freaking cute. i love movies where it’s a tiny character and you get to see their different little world (like ferngully which is also great if you haven’t seen it) i didnt expect it to also be a commentary on social media and celebrity but that was cool too. music was great. the voice acting was great (how is that jenny slate????). i was hesitant to watch because everyone spoke so highly of it and i didn’t wanna be disappointed, but it’s so worth the hype!

the most sweetest and loveliest animated film i’ve seen in a long time. theres something so refreshing and beautiful about the approach to the story and the animation is toooo pretty .. certainly worth a watch - on hbo if you’re in the US :) don’t overlook it! it has a fantastic capybara and a lovely cat in it ..

i love rewatching movies but my sister hates that i consider them in my count of movies i've seen in a year. besides my belief that you're always a different person every time you see a movie even if you've see it over and over again, i just love the way a rewatch can hurt even more knowing what happens.... i guess i'm speaking more about heartbreaking and bittersweet movies because it just hits different when you linger on moments knowing they will come to an end (DAMN...) my rewatch of past lives in the cinema last week made me think about this again. i will always defend rewatches, even for movies like the princess diaries or easy a. does anyone else love rewatching? do you include rewatches in your movie counts?
