Only 40 or so pages in but my god, his writing is divine. I can see why García Márquez thought he was the best Latin American author. Every page is both delicious and unsettling.
It took me four months to read this beautiful book. I’ve never read a book so dense in its storytelling yet so readable. It’s magical realism at its finest
Only a few can write fiction with this calmness and grace in their language. Every word feels like a spell by Cortazar getting you into his world. I’m still not sure which one was my favorite but Letter to a Lady in Paris is just crazy
god this book is beautiful. somehow both a slow burn and constantly moving. i read love in the time of cholera more recently, which was very good, but there’s something so magical about 100 years and i just can’t recommend it enough
Anything reminiscent of a treasure hunt that involves creatures, bones, or cool stones will excite me.
I had a staring contest with a crab the size of my head. It won. I wonder what I looked like through the water surface.
Helps me sleep better! And I get to watch the seasons change. I’m excited for the poppies to bloom, shouldn’t be too long now.
