I absolutely love the community on this subreddit. I have mixed feelings about Reddit in general - but I do like the subreddits where most of the posts are text posts and this is true for r/yoga. People will present an unhinged scenario (which is probably an exercise in creative writing and/or narcissism like most things on Reddit) where they are in a yoga class and the person next to them is wearing bells on their belt and they smell awful and are sweating so much there are puddle and doing jumping jacks and not following the instruction and loudly saying mantras. the op will then ask “what do I do?? Talk to the studio owner??” And ALL of the commenters just go “in the spirit of yoga, you have to drown it out and focus on your breath ✌🏻🍃” or literally post an old proverb. And then the op just agrees and goes on their way. It’s reminds me of old forum posting and I love the energy.

if you told me six years ago that I would be a devoted follower of a bay area yoga couple I would have probably believed you, but would've rolled my eyes. But after regular practice, taking stock of where I started and where I am now, yoga has changed my life. I do like the occasional class, but doing it at home is so much cheaper and you can build a foundation to know a little more about what you're doing. They have classes for all levels and a paid Patreon channel if you want longer ones (75, 90, 120 minutes🔥) I'm normally not into the woowoo stuff, but something about Flo's assurances that you don't need to worry about how a pose *looks* only how it *feels* makes all the difference. Focusing on your breath and his vocal cues help tune you into parts of your body you forget about. And that awareness reaches far to so many other areas of your life. If you're at all curious about yoga, don't roll your eyes or by a cynic like 2018 me. Get into it.

I love taking fitness classes IRL and I think boutique fitness is so interesting and literally, like I said, could just make this whole thing about that. So if you ARE interested in recommendations of studios and teachers and stuff reach out to me bc I am going to STOP but I did wanna say-- if you’re someone who’s been practicing yoga for a long time, especially at home, it can get kind of monotonous- you start to be able to predict where you’re going next, like, Warrior 2, then Reverse Warrior, then Triangle. Etc. So I recently found this girl I am in love with and her name is Nicole and she doesn’t upload videos very often but they’re like the closest to an in-studio experience I’ve ever had at home. Her sequencing is so creative!!  She’s an artist. It’s definitely for more experienced people, but if that is you, I think you will love her. She is amazing at coming up with crazy flows that are so fun and challenging. And a lot of them are a nice hour long!!If you are newer to yoga and are maybe burnt out on Adrienne, I think you would love Yoga With Kassandra...  she’s really accessible.. this is all free on YouTube I should have specified

I’d have gone completely insane this year if I didn’t “practice” yoga. I’ve been streaming videos from my fav studio VERAYOGA since April. They teach Vinyasa yoga, which is yoga as exercise… because exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy, and happy people just DON’T kill their husbands. Very challenging but very worth it (hello, have you seen my abs???). Keeps me limber and grounded. They have good playlists, but sometimes I just put on Radiohead and pretend like I’m Dakota Johnson in Suspiria. Moody girl checkkk.

I love chopping fruit up and making the ultimate snack: fruit salad. It makes me feel like a sim in Sims 4 and my cooking skill is increasing.
