the body keeps the rest

woke up at 2am. Unaware of when or how I’d fallen asleep in the first place. now at 5 almost 6am I’m piecing it all together. it was yesterday at like 4:30p. I thought how tired I felt so I laid down for a sec scrolling through my phone. And then I was out. Sometimes the body will do what you least expect it to. I’ve been learning a lot about that and my own vessel but this is a new one within the genre of rest.

sleeping: it's great

i think i do things during the day just so when i get into bed it feels amazing and cool. a freshly changed set of sheets and a warm duvet in a cold room is basically heaven. i don't fuck with anything fancy. i don't have a routine. i lie down and i pass out and i wake up eight hours later not totally sure of where i am and i do this every night.

I pass tf out

I brush my teeth and rinse my face. Might use a scrub and moisturizer if I feel my mug needs it. Glass of water on the nightstand. I crawl under my one (1) duvet and plunk my head on the buckwheat pillow. If I listen to anything, watch anything, or read anything, I Will Stay Awake. So I just close my peepers and zonk. I sleep on my side, unbothered by my crimes.

enjoying things after the hype is over

I really hate when people say “you should watch this, it’s so good”. Maybe it’s my natural oppositional defiance at play, but any time something gets hyped up, I want nothing to do with it. So I just finished watching Challengers, and yeah. It lives up to the hype. But I’m glad I came to that conclusion in my own terms, makes it easier to see a piece of work for what it is, without the influence of too many opinions.

The best feeling in the world

Is when someone sends you a song they think you would like and they actually get it right, and then it goes into heavy rotation, and every time you listen to it, it makes you think about how they were thinking about you, and it’s like a tiny little love letter from the universe, letting you know that in one split second in time, you were in someone’s thoughts
