The apps focus you too much on the physical aspects of attraction and miss out on everything else that makes someone attractive - those things only reality and time reveal
taran precisely! I think there’s too much time spent trying to portray yourself a certain way through the right witty prompts + pics. all time this time better spent actually talking to someone IRL (even if it goes nowhere)!
I totally agree. even though it is harder to break the barrier of talking to people, I feel it is worth trying and becoming more confident about it. i try to practice small talks every day :)

I remember listening to a stat about how a little over 1/2+ of the people in a dating app (name redacted) self reported as looking for something unserious/not long term. In other words, unprepared for a commital relationship.
criatura I believe it! I would probably even consider myself one of those people on some days…but nevertheless I think starting from person makes that conversation/vibe-reading easier than putting in all this effort+expectations on apps!
it’s so much more intentional in person too! like the apps make it so you’re expected to be immediately attracted to a stranger
ladyjmw exactly! the way a person moves in the world 3-dimensionally is a massive part of attraction and it’s kinda crazy to start without that. app swag and irl swag are so different lol.
i went to a bumble event a few months ago and it just solidified how hard it really is to meet people. me (as a hetero woman) only wound up talking to one guy there and talking with many women about little interests like the girl with a vintage coach bag ☺️
