Lately i’ve felt completely over and bored of podcasts. I’ve also kick started another of my annual joni mitchell deep dives, and with that came the pleasant revelation that her 6+ hour long box sets are readily available unabridged on most music streaming services (and soulseek) Where podcasts rule is their ability to compress time. A long drive, a brutal running workout, or a day of household drudgery flies by when you have a good pod to put on. Joni’s boxsets have the same effect, but also have the bewitching joy of hearing entire iconic concerts, listening as her late 60’s hits continue to grow and transform as she hones her skills as a musician and writer, ultimately making some of the most sophisticated and breezy music ever made. So drop that podcast and tune into Joni

I normally put on podcasts/audiobooks/albums that I’ve been putting off. Stuff like So Tonight That I Might See by Mazzy Star was recommended to me a bunch but I just never had time to listen to the whole record without being interrupted so when I drive 4ish hours home and back I put it on plus a bunch of other records. did the same thing with other audio media I’ve ment to grab but hadn’t yet I’m sure you’re already listening to music but going front to back on a album or book is a different vibe

This is how music was meant to be listened to. I miss life before Spotify with my iPod that had my fav artist‘s discographies categorized by album all waiting to be consumed as a whole piece of art. Our attention spans are getting so bad—an album requires time and patience and allows for a deeper satisfaction. Try listening to one whole album a week! It’s great.

i would probably walk 50 miles every day to listen to A Case Of You one time and be catapulted back home. you don't ever have to be back on spotify.

lately I’ve found myself going out and punching people in the back of the head, pushing groceries out of peoples’ arms, and kicking people in the stomach. it’s a great reminder that you can find community with others in unconventional ways, and that what can be harmful for other people can often be really fun for me. go out and hurt someone today!

Every time i forget my water bottle at the gym I realize how much better and more energized I feel when i rip an intense cardio set without sucking down some stupid water. Especially when i haven’t drank water all day. You unlock a new level of athleticism, perseverance, and stoicism. It makes you sick seeing the sheeple around you drinking their liquid out of their precious little Stanleys and Naglenes. Whats the matter? Baby need his baa baa? Give me a break Stretching before working out sucks too
