use your youtube channel as a way to store memories you find beautiful and meaningful. whether recognition is guaranteed or not is fine. but what will be is your outlet for creative expression and growth. use youtube to document every moment you find sacred.

if you want to make videos out of a love for the form, to express yourself and romanticize your life, it doesn’t really matter who sees them maybe… feel like ive been interested in making youtube videos for a while but dont want to be a “YouTuber”™️ necessarily, and this has always felt like a great option for that. send your videos to people you love, make them and watch them back for yourself, and if you want to someday, publish them on your channel to the general public :) feel like picking up a camera and recording yourself is already challenging, letting an internet company that creates a convenient place for advertisers to run ads and give you a number score for how “good” your video was based on how many ads it ran will not make that less challenging. creating a vlog for your friends eyes only until you make a video you feel like you want to share with the world feels much more inviting / requires much less of a thick skin than the alternative

If youre nervous or embarrassed about starting a YouTube channel, don’t be! for the past 4 or 5 months I’ve been working to curate and edit videos for a vlog channel of me and my bestfriend and it’s been so much fun! Editing is almost therapeutic and it feels so rewarding when everything comes together in the end. Do I know if this channel will become anything? no. But am I going to work hard to stay consistently uploading anyways because it is something I ENJOY, yes!

Here is a piece that I am livestreaming indefinitely on youtube. It’s footage from basically everywhere I’ve been in the past 3 years or so. All over America. YouTube is really a blessing; even if it was _just_ a storage platform for video it would be above and beyond anything else. I really recommend finding ways to make stuff for youtube.

During my quest of personal expression I have found a unique and meaningful way to be more comfortable with the sound of my voice and that is by reading out loud. At first it was weird and awkward to read to the four walls or prying ears but as time went on, I began to allow for my voice to take up space and to fill those anxious gaps inside of me. PS: I read out loud in the privacy of my home 😭 not out in public spaces.

with the rise of social media, it can be so easy to get sucked and pulled into someone else’s aesthetic or outlook. i have found inspiration from going within and seeing what i genuinely like when it comes to art, fashion, interior design and so much more. the results were shocking but it comes to show how much i really am a maximalist at heart :) what are some of your favourite interior design styles?

The beauty of documenting your life experiences through your speech and embracing how your voice sounds in that very moment is something I find so special. Our voices are instruments, what use are they if we don’t take delight in the sound of the very thing that forms meaningful connections. Voice journalling has made me so much more confident in my speech, how I sound, public speaking and expressing myself to those around me. It has helped me to be more interactive during conversations with friends, family and strangers. It has opened up the gate for meaningful friendships and closed the gate for social anxiety. I usually go back and listen to the growth of my voice and the small depletions of the insecurity and anxiety of my speech. It’s also a great way for me to document my thoughts when journalling through writing gets overwhelming. Have any of you all tried voice journalling?
